Dr. Jamis Robins, RN, MN, DNP is a Professor in the Practical Nursing program at Confederation College, where she teaches across the curriculum and supports students in developing safe, competent and evidence-informed practice. A graduate of the College’s Practical Nursing program, Jamis brings clinical experience in complex continuing care, long-term care, surgical services, family medicine, pediatrics and critical care. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing (Teaching Focus) at Athabasca University and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a focus on quality improvement and community-engaged practice.
Jamis serves as Co-Lead of the Indigenous-Focused RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) initiative (2024–2027), guiding the integration of evidence-based practice and culturally responsive care within the Practical Nursing curriculum. Her work centres on quality improvement, social determinants of health and strengthening transitions in care across diverse communities.
