
Library Loan Periods & Fines
Find everything you need to know about borrowing from the Confederation College Library, including loan periods, renewals, and material guidelines. Stay informed about overdue fines and policies to keep your account in good standing.
Loan Periods
- Books - 2 weeks and 3 weeks for regional students
- Renewals - Twice
- Visual Material (Videos, DVDs, etc.) - Variable
- Periodicals (Magazines, Journals, Newspaper) - In Library Use Only
- Government Documents - Online access
- Reference Books - In Library Use Only
Renewals
- Renew materials in person at the Library's 2nd floor desk
- Renew by Phone: (807) 475–6219
- Go to Library catalogue(opens in new window) and click on "Sign in"
- Once you are signed in you can view your loans and renew them. Loans will only be renewable 3 days before the due date.
- Please note that you must renew items on or before the due date (in person, by phone or online).
Fines
- Fines are charged for late return of all materials and for replacement of lost materials
- Fines accrue to $25.00 maximum per item on all materials borrowed. This does not include the processing fee or the replacement cost of the item(s).
- Borrowing privileges are suspended and marks can be withheld until fines are paid
Fine Charges
- Books - $0.35 / book / day
- AV/Multimedia Items - Variable
- 2–hr Reserve Items - $1.00 / item / hour
- 1–Day Reserve Items - $1.00 / item / day
- Materials Recalled - $1.00 / item /day
