Basic Blood Collection

This certificate course will provide the RPN and PSW with theory and lab practice (on artificial arms) in proper techniques of venipuncture and capillary puncture. Students are provided with the opportunity to practice basic blood collection skills in a simulated setting. NOTE: This course is a laboratory course only and has no fieldwork or clinical component. Students who successfully complete the course cannot consider themselves to be phlebotomists. Class Dates: Thursday, April 3 - 6:00 to 9:00; Saturday, April 12 - 10:00 to 4:30; Thursday, April 17 - 6:00 to 9:00; Saturday, April 26 - 10:00 to 4:30
