Urological Skills:RPN
This theory and lab course will give the RPN the knowledge, skill, and judgement in performing all urological nursing procedures, with specific reference to catheterization and urinary elimination. Building on prior instruction, the RPN will learn about different disease states affecting the genitourinary/renal systems, relevant nursing diagnoses, urinary catheterizations, bladder irrigations, suprapubic catheter care, and care of the urinary diversion. This course is of importance for those RPNs who wish to upgrade their skills to meet the current nursing standards. Prerequisite: Active practicing RPN license.
