Language Skills II

This course is designed to provide the learner with practical and applied communications skills necessary for the workplace. The learner will draw on the skills addressed in Language Skills I to further enhance workplace communications skills. This will involve exploring the three primary reasons to communicate in the workplace (to record information, to ask for or give information, and to persuade). Using these reasons as a guide, the learner will further develop the reading strategies, as well as the writing, listening, and speaking skills required to communicate effectively in various workplace settings. Learners will be introduced to spreadsheet applications on the computer, and will learn to create and use basic spreadsheets for work purposes.
