Documentation for Regulatory Requirements for Purchasing

This course introduces the students to regulatory requirements related to purchasing and material handling. Issues such as WHMIS, transportation of dangerous goods act (TDG), ISO 9000, ISO 14,000, etc. are to be introduced at a hands-on level to the students. Application of regulations for construction situations will be highlighted. Students will be introduced to regulations related to the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Health and the Fire Marshal's Office. Guest speakers from these organizations will be an integral part of the course in order to ensure that the current issues are addressed.
