This course is designed to focus on both public administration and the Canadian political structure, including the organizational administration workings and interaction among federal, provincial and local governments. Students will develop an awareness of issues related to law enforcement that affect the political, public administration, and management process. The course will also include a description of the organization and interaction of the three levels of government, and the democratic election and legislative process. Students will be introduced to the services of each level of government, the daily problems and issues facing Canadians, and impact on the field of law enforcement by public opinion and special interest groups.
