OP-440
Mechanical Applications
This course covers the pumps used in almost every industrial plant. Students differentiate among the pumps required for water pumping systems, chemical pumping systems and high viscosity pumping systems. The students are also introduced to the procedures for moving and placing loads safely. Specific procedures and tools vary with the type of job. This course gives an overview of industrial machinery bearings explaining the classification schemes and principles of bearing selection. It also describes shafts, how they operate, and their effects on bearing life and optimal performance of equipment.
