Global Positioning System

Examine GPS applications, with emphasis on operating fundamentals, absolute and differential techniques, types of signals, considerations related to GPS data, satellite systems (GNSS) and future trends. GPS receiver NOT required. Prerequisite: OL731 Intro to GIS. Experience working with shapefiles and an understanding of datums, projections and vector data model would be helpful. Computer Software Requirements: The required program for this course is ArcGIS Pro, which is available for download at no additional cost through the course. ArcGIS Pro can only be installed on Windows-based computers.
