Biomechanical Analysis of Fundamental Movement
This course offers students a comprehensive and integrated discussion on biomechanics and human movement science. Through the investigation of quantitative and qualitative biomechanics students develop the skills needed to observe, analyze and critically evaluate patterns of motion that commonly exist in sport, occupation, fitness and clinical settings. Biomechanical principles include linear/angular kinematics and kinetics, scalar and vector quantities, moment/torque, moment arm/levers, forces, work, impulse and internal mechanical properties as it relates to enhancing performance and decreasing injury. This course is designed to enhance students' placement experience, future career endeavors and appreciation for biomechanics in sport and exercise.
