Child Development II
This course covers key topics related to children with special needs. To provide an alternate perspective on the unique ways in which children learn, a discussion of multiple intelligence theory is presented. The course examines the categories of exceptionality and describes a variety of conditions and disorders that may limit a child's ability to function and learn. Actions that can prevent disability are also discussed. The special services that may be provided at school for exceptional children are discussed. The partnership between parents and the school in providing programming for children with special needs is also examined.
