Soils and Geomorphology
The student will gain the skills to identify fundamental characteristics of forest soils and sites and to classify forest ecosystems and ecosites using standard terminologies. The student will then discover how soils and site parameters affect the structure and function of forest ecosystems and how they influence forest operations including road construction, forest harvesting and silviculture. Other topics include hydrology, landform origin, description and identification.
