Building Resilience: Child/Youth
While there has been growing interest in the concept of resilience, there has been little attention paid to the cultural and contextual factors that influence children's healthy growth and development under adversity. This course is designed to provide students an understanding of resilience theory and its implications for prevention and interventions to increase resilience in high-risk children and youth. Special attention will be paid to the relationship between promoting resilience in aboriginal children/youth and identity, family and community factors.
