Nurturing Wellness Across the Lifecycles

Nurturing Wellness Across the Lifecycles will explore mental health practices at each of the life’s stages: infant, toddler, child, youth, young adult, parent, grandparent, and Elder. Unpacking the traditional roles associated with each stage, this course examines barriers to health and the effects of western society on Indigenous wellness (for example when the elderly are sent into a “home” and no longer visited or connected across the fire). Learners will also explore paths of growth, healing, balance, and strength that contribute to mental wellness throughout the lives of individuals and community.
