Indigenous Trauma Work

This course offers Learners an overview of colonialism and its impacts on Indigenous communities, with a specific focus on the effects and impacts of trauma. Learners will critically analyze conceptions of trauma, how the term is defined, and the differences of understanding amongst various populations. We will reflect on how trauma operates within individuals, families, and communities. Finally, we will turn our attention a variety of wholistic practices- such as medicine, ceremony, and community- that help in the process of overcoming trauma.
