A Framework for Understanding Violence

This course examines the issues of violence within the context of the Aboriginal experience. The discussions will encompass dynamics of violence within families and communities as well as the roots of this phenomenon. The course will also address misconceptions prevalent in societal attitudes about violence. The students will examine the role of the human service worker in dealing with violence as well as familiarize themselves with the legal and policy framework affecting their clients.
