Business Planning for Importing
This course introduces students to the field of business planning, with a specific focus on importing. Students will examine the development of a business plan for an importing venture. They will consider the key components of a business plan, associated forecasting methods and promotion strategies that must be included. Topics covered will include the nature and role of importing in Canada; commercial importing; identifying import market opportunities; locating and assessing foreign suppliers; import feasibility assessment; pro forma financial statements and the purchase, promotion and sale of imported products.
