Public Interest Education
In this course learners will be introduced to public education techniques, and in particular will explore the various forms of media which can be accessed for the purposes of education including broadcasting, print-based and performance. A fundamental aspect of the course will be the use of the Internet and other electronic resources (i.e. newsgroups, mailing lists) for education and advocacy. Learners will survey some of the creative approaches already being adopted for media-based education, and strategize their own approach around a group-based project.
