Financial Accountability
This course is an overview of financial and accounting principles relevant and essential to the work of community leaders. The topics surveyed include budget, revenue, assets and liabilities, tax planning, balance sheets and audits. Emphasis will be placed upon the unique financial arrangements which exist in the context of Indigenous communities, including taxation issues and finance agreements. An area of discussion will also be the specific financial requirements of not-for-profit corporations.
