Post-Colonial Discourse

Building upon the foundation provided in Introduction to Social and Political Thought, this course will focus on contemporary political and cultural theory, with an emphasis on critiques of the liberal and individualist perspectives essential to the 19th century paradigm. Learners will be presented with original writings of key thinkers, and will develop a sense of the major themes of 20th century, including critical theory, race theory, post-modernism and feminism.
