Research Methods

The primary objective of this course is to create strong research skills by providing learners with a sound knowledge of research approaches to information ranging from oral to electronic, in addition to the proper citation of source material. The learning outcomes will introduce learners to an array of information resources and establish a comfort level with each. Emphasis will be placed upon the meaning and verity of Indigenous knowledge, and the importance of approaching this type of knowledge with the appropriate epistemological framework. Intellectual property issues relating to the search for Indigenous knowledge will be highlighted.
