Media Literature and Representation

In this course learners will become adept at the critical analysis of various media sources ranging from the visual arts to literature and journalism, with particular attention to the representation of marginalized perspectives in contemporary media. A series of readings from both primary and secondary sources will require learners to analyze and challenge the cultural, institutional and individual assumptions or arguments which can inform a narrative.
