As more and more companies take advantage of global markets, it is imperative that managers understand the nature and source of global competitiveness. A well -developed global strategy, which maximizes a company’s competitive advantage, is critical to international success. In this course, students will evaluate the strategies available to businesses pursuing international trade and investment opportunities. They will examine a basic model of strategic management with an emphasis on the role of resources and capabilities in formulating global strategies. Students will determine the factors relevant to the success and/or failure of global partnerships and examine the strategic value of offshore activities.
