Indigenous Voice & Vision
This course will explore and contrast the historical representation of Indigenous people in Canada by traditional media and from Indigenous people themselves. Various world views, including the history that has contributed to how and what stories get told within the mainstream media, will also be explored with an emphasis on how these stories have shaped our views of people who have either been misrepresented, or not represented at all. Students will be exposed to the emerging voices, and untold stories, of the Indigenous experience in Canada.
