Child Development I
This course provides an introduction to the study of child development as it is understood by the dominant culture and as it relates to the institutional setting of the school. Students will gain an introductory knowledge of the physical, mental and social/emotional/spiritual growth of children during early, middle, and late childhood as well as during adolescence. Opportunity will be provided for students to reflect on the applicability of this knowledge to their own cultural and community norms.
