Forest Management Planning

Students will study the Acts, policies, manuals and guidelines relating to Forest Management Planning in Ontario. Topic areas include strategic planning, public participation, issue resolution, calculation of allowable harvest area, values protection, five-year planning of forest operations, access planning and water crossings, silviculture ground rules, annual work schedule production, compliance, and reports of completed operations. Students will produce and present a draft plan incorporating the principles of integrated resource management.
