Federal Legislation The Indian Act and Related Issues
In this course students will be introduced to the constitutional framework of Canada, with particular attention to legislative structure, and Aboriginal rights as outlined in the Constitution Act, 1982. The discussion of legislative authority will lead into an overview of the provisions of the Indian Act, and will incorporate a critical and historical analysis of federal policy affecting Aboriginal peoples.
