Instructional Methods & Teaching Strategies

Building on previous coursework that examined Ontario’s curriculum, common instructional approaches and the lesson plan itself, this theory course moves into specific teaching methods, strategies and approaches that are essential for ensuring student success in relation to the learning goals. Direct instruction, advance organizers, questioning, visual supports and other important topics for the educational assistant are covered. Special attention is paid to the individualization of support.
