Safety in an Educational Setting

This course introduces students to the policies, procedures, and daily practices that promote safety and well-being in Ontario school settings. Students will examine how educational assistants contribute to a safe physical, emotional, and professional environment for students, staff, and themselves. Topics include school safety policies, emergency preparedness, supervision, mental health, Safe Schools legislation, bullying prevention, and child protection. Students will also learn about documentation, incident reporting, and relevant legal responsibilities.
