Professionalism & Community Health

This course introduces students to community oral health promotion and public health. The student will implement oral health education programs designed to prevent and control dental disease. Through effective dental education and oral health promotion, the oral health needs of the community will be met. Students will develop an understanding of the ethical, professional and legal roles and responsibilities and accountability of the dental assistant. The students will also have a review in preparation for the NDAEB exam. Course competencies and learning objectives are linked to the NDAEB Domain Description: 1, 7.
