Field Placement II

This course offers students the opportunity to integrate theory into their second year practice field placement settings. Students will implement; therapeutic engagement, relational CYC practice, and crisis intervention skills with children, youth and caregivers. Within inter and multi disciplinary teams students will also apply knowledge of; mental health differences, youth addictions, trauma and aggression, and the impact of colonization and Indigenous world views. Students are also responsible for designing a professional learning plan, self evaluations and reflective journals which identify strengths and areas requiring development. Students are required to follow the operational schedule and policies and procedures of their respective agencies.
