Crisis Intervention and Response Planning
This course will define crisis and examine the effects of crisis on the individual, family and community. Appropriate responses to helping a person in crisis will be discussed. This course will also examine the way in which an Aboriginal community responds to crisis. Learning how to develop a community plan to deal with crisis, critical incident stress debriefing and emergency response measures will be important components of the course content. The course will also help community workers identify the needs and supports necessary to help communities handle the after effects of loss and trauma.
