Statics I

This is the introductory course in structural mechanics. The course begins with a study of systems of units used in the Architectural and Civil Engineering fields. It then moves on to introduce the mathematical techniques needed to analyze forces as vectors. Finally, students will learn how to determine the forces acting on simple structures in static equilibrium.
