Counselling & Treatment Practice

In this course, students will examine a variety of approaches for treating individuals with mental health and addiction-related disorders. Students will be able to identify the primary theoretical and therapeutic approaches in the treatment of both disorders. By doing so, students will build skills in the areas of assessment, treatment planning, evaluation of treatment planning, structured relapse prevention and discharge planning. Upon completion, students will be able to apply best practice treatment strategies and devise an individualized structured relapse prevention plan.
