Anishinaabe Legends, Storytelling and Songs 1
In this course, students will be introduced to the Anishinaabe origin stories, cosmology, morals and principles through legends, storytelling, superstitions, songs and lullabies. A variety of experiential learning opportunities are offered including performing storytelling sessions, retelling legends, drumming and singing in the language. As the students learn to speak the Anishinaabemowin language, they will have the opportunity to apply and retell their personal stories and experiences on a language-learning journey that will include mistakes, laughter and fun.
