What do I need to bring to the Testing Centre?

You need to bring a piece of valid photo ID with you, as well as any permitted materials for your exam. For example: pens, pencils, erasers, calculators (if allowed).

Where do I pay my exam fees?

Exam fees are paid at the HUB located on the first floor of the Shuniah Buildings. Fees must be paid before writing your exam. The HUB is open Monday through Friday 8:30 - 4:30.  

Can I go to the washroom during my test?

Depending on the instructions provided by your instructor, you may be allowed to use the washroom. You will be informed of whether or not breaks are allowed before you enter to write your test. Students who are allowed washroom breaks will be able to do so one at a time. Extra time will not be given to complete your test if you take a washroom break. You will not be permitted to take any belongings with you.

Is storage provided in the Testing Centre?

Yes, storage is provided in the Testing Centre. However, there is no locked storage, so items of value should be left at home, as staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

I am not a Confederation College student, can I book an exam at the Testing Centre?

Yes, you can book an exam at the Testing Centre. Please see the External Exams tab for more information.

Where is the Testing Centre located?

The Testing Centre is located on the third floor of the Shuniah Building in room 339A.

How much does parking cost?

Daily parking passes can be purchased for $6.00

Can I bring food or drink into the Testing Centre?

No. Food and drink are not permitted in the Testing Centre. This includes coffee and bottled water.

How much does it cost for a non-Confederation College student to write an exam at the Testing Centre?

There is a service fee plus courier fees (if needed) per exam for a non-Confederation College student to write an exam at the Testing Centre. Please see the External Exams tab for more information or call us at (807) 475-6476.

How far in advance should I book my exam?

Exams should be booked with enough time for us to receive the exam. Some institutions require you book your exam a certain time in advance. You should always check your requirements for booking an exam at the Testing Centre with your institution before booking.

Can I bring my personal belongings in with me while I write my test?

No. All personal belongings including backpacks, purses, cell phones, coats, etc. must be left in the storage area provided by the Testing Centre. Please do not bring any items of value as the Testing Centre staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

If I am stuck on a question, can the Testing Centre staff help me with it?

No. Unfortunately invigilators are not authorized to help students with their tests, even for clarification. We suggest you try your best to answer the question and make a note for your instructor of your difficulty.

Can I leave an assignment, or attach my doctor’s note to the test for my instructor?

No, you will have to see your instructor yourself.

When will I get my mark back?

All completed tests/exams will be placed in your instructors outgoing file. Students are not allowed to return completed tests/exams unless otherwise noted. Instructors will pick up completed exams and deliver feedback in accordance to what they have discussed in class.

What if I don’t show up for a test that I scheduled at the Testing Centre?

A “no show” is when a student does not attend their scheduled test time and did not cancel or reschedule the appointment prior to their test/exam.  You will need to contact the Testing Centre to reschedule your test as long as you are still permitted to write.
