PLAR Assessment

How are candidates assessed using PLAR?

The actual PLAR process will be determined by the Program Coordinator and/or Faculty after an initial meeting.

Challenge Process Examples:

  • Written or oral examinations
  • Essays, research papers, reports, diaries, logs, journals
  • Interviews or role plays
  • Projects, assignments or case studies
  • Performance/skill demonstrations

Portfolio Assessment:

  • A method of assessment that identifies, evaluates and verifies prior learning through the organized collection of materials developed by a learner. It records learning achievements and relates them to educational goals.
  • The achievement of stated learning outcomes of college courses or programs is required.
