Expand In this course, students will develop an overall understanding of sustainable engineering practices which are commonly used in industrial and commercial applications related to green facilities. Students will examine a wide range of sustainability factors that are associated with LEED certification along with other sustainability programs, certifications, codes, and organizations.
This course is designed to demonstrate how to achieve sustainability through focused attention on reduced energy consumption, enhanced equipment efficiency, consistent maintenance, achieving indoor health and thermal comfort, reduced consumption of utilities, renewable energy, on-site energy generation, green power, water conservation, and operational best practices regarding building features such as lighting, insulation, air infiltration, landscaping, shading, and roofing. |
