As a graduate of the Business Administration - Accounting program, you will have acquired the knowledge and skills to enjoy an exciting and rewarding career in Accounting.

This program is a three-year program, the third year offered to graduates of the two-year Business - Accounting program. The program offers students the opportunity to build the critical and analytical skills that are important for effective decision-making and managerial leadership in the workplace. This program contains a one-semester-long field placement component, providing valuable work experience and the potential to network with an employer’s organization.

Graduates are prepared for career opportunities in public accounting firms, the public sector, financial institutions, and privately- and publicly-owned businesses.  Graduates are trained to be part of a management team, able to administer and analyze financial data to support management functions.

Confederation College has created pathways for the graduate for further education. If a student so wishes, they may work towards their goal of a CPA designation.  With the unification of the accounting profession in Canada, all professional accountants now use one designation, the CPA, to denote a Chartered Professional Accountant.  Through articulation agreements with specific universities, credit can be given at the university level to our graduates.

Not all students wish to pursue the accounting designation. Regardless of a student’s goal, the Business Administration - Accounting program provides the student with employable skills to work in the accounting field utilizing advanced management and financial accounting techniques.
