How to Apply for International Students: A Comprehensive Guide

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Visit the Confederation College International application portal and follow the step-by-step application process. Pay the non-refundable $125.00 CAD application fee via credit card and ensure you click "Submit" to complete your application.

Note: Use the link provided above for international students, not the domestic Ontario Colleges website.

Required Documents:

  • High school, college, and/or university transcripts and diplomas or degrees (original language and English translation)
  • English proficiency result for non-native English speakers
  • Valid passport copy (photo and details page)

Note for Agents: If you don't have a signed agreement with the college, visit the Contact Us webpage to connect with an in-country representative.

Note for Students from Bangladesh, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and The Gambia: Apply through a registered agent. Please email the appropriate contact below and indicate which country you are from to receive a list of approved agents based on country of citizenship:

Step 2: Application Processing

Once submitted and complete, applications will be assessed. Note that submitting an application does not guarantee a Letter of Acceptance (LOA). Applications are considered based on the time of application and academics, and will close once the program is full. Processing time is within five business days, but may be delayed during peak times.

Step 3: Understanding Your Status

After submission, your application may receive one of the following responses:

  • Closed: The program is full, and an LOA cannot be extended.
  • Needs More Information: Additional documentation is required for eligibility assessment.
  • Waitlist: Applications are still being accepted, but program seats are full. More LOAs may be extended later, depending on expired LOAs and payment/visa approval assessments.

Types of LOAs:

  • Offer: Unconditional LOA.
  • Conditional Offer: LOA with outstanding requirements specified.

Step 4: Tuition Fee Payment

Pay the first semester tuition fees by the deadline listed on your LOA to confirm acceptance. After the deadline, the offer becomes invalid.

Allow 3-5 business days for overseas tuition fee payments to be received.

For details on how to pay, visit the How to Make a Payment webpage.

Step 5: Provicial Attestation Letter (PAL)

After your tuition fee payment is received and processed, the College will request a PAL on your behalf of the applicant. You do not need to do anything extra in this regard.

Your PAL will be issued to the College, who will then upload it to your file on the application portal. You will receive an email informing you that your PAL is ready for download. Please make sure that your email address in the application portal is correct and valid.

Please note that PALs will only be issued to students whose fee payment is received in full, on time, and as specified in their LOA.
