Confederation College Hosts Skills Ontario Competition

The future of skilled trades and technology will be in the spotlight on Saturday, April 6, 2019 when hundreds of secondary school students from across the province take part in qualifying competitions to earn spots in the upcoming 2019 Skills Ontario Competition.

Confederation College will be hosting the Far Northern area qualifying event. The competions will take place in the following categories: carpentry, culinary arts, TV and video Production and welding.

The top three competitors in each contest from each qualifying competition location will be eligible to compete at the 30th Skills Ontario Competition, which takes place May 6-8, 2019 at the Toronto Congress Centre in the GTA. More than 35,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.

Gold medalists are also eligible to go on to represent Ontario at the Skills Canada National Competition on May 28-29, 2019 in Halifax.
