Statistics (FNNRYEP)

Since 2000, youth, representing 30 First Nations communities, have participated in the FNNRYEP.  The success of this program is evidenced by the following:

  • 94% of Year One participants completed the program;
  • 70% of Year One graduates returned as Year Two participants and 92% of these participants graduated successfully;
  • 33% of Year Two graduates returned for an industry sponsored Year Three employment program and 81.8% of these participants have completed the program;
  • 41% of Year 1 graduates go on to Year 2 and Year 3; 
  • 15% of Year Three graduates have returned for a 4th year of summer employment;
  • 21 participants have gone on to college and/or university;
  • a total of 403 summer job placements have been created to date within the FNNRYEP;
  • an additional 175 summer job placements for graduates of this program were made available by Outland (in partnership with industry); 
  • forestry field work provides an effective foundation for developing employment skills, workplace ethics and quality control;
  • program mandate continues to expand to include other natural resource sectors;
  • eight incident free years for this program.
