My insight, or words of advice regarding this program

Thank you for considering nursing! If you love to learn, help others, and would like a career with a variety of pathways, this program is for you!

My insight, and words of advice regarding career opportunities in this field of study

Nursing is an extremely rich and rewarding career choice. Nurses have the honour of experiencing some of life's most significant moments with others. In my opinion, there is no other career as dynamic or meaningful as a career in nursing.

How/Why I Become a Teacher

I became a teacher to share my love of nursing with novice nurses. To give students the type of teacher I loved to have as a student by being approachable, encouraging questions and having open conversations. I believe in creating opportunities for students to engage in making connections in nursing and in pushing them to understand the rationale underlying nursing care through questioning and open discussions. I embrace the guide on the side, rather than the traditional sage on the stage model.

What I Like Most About Teaching?

Being with learners who are excited about all that nursing can offer them, encouraging students to adopt a growth mindset, engaging students in reflection on learning, and experiential education.
