The Faculty of Engineering at Lakehead University-Thunder Bay campus enables qualified graduates of Confederation College’s Civil Engineering Technology Program to join Lakehead’s Bachelor of Engineering students in their third year of studies.

The College Transfer Program provides a seamless transition to Lakehead University. Students are required to take a series of transition courses at Lakehead University during the months of July and August, followed by a minimum of two regular (September to April) academic years.

Qualified graduates of the 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technology, Ontario College Advanced Diploma from Confederation College are eligible to enter the Post-Diploma Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree program at Lakehead University — Thunder Bay campus. Students are admitted into the Post-Diploma Program which includes the summer transition courses.

Confederation College students completing the 3rd year of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program through the Northern Colleges Collaborative Program are required to meet program admission requirements and prerequisites, as well...

Graduates of Confederation College's Forestry Technician: Ecosystem Management    2-year diploma program (with a 60% in final year), may be eligible to enter into Year 2 of Lakehead University’s Bachelor of Science (Natural Science major) degree program at the Thunder Bay Campus.

​Lakehead agrees to accept into second year of the Concurrent BA/Bed programs for graduates who have a 3.5 GPA in the final year of the ECE Diploma program. Students admitted to Concurrent Bachelor will receive 5.0 FCEs of advance credit. A minimum of ten spaces will be reserved for applicants covered by this agreement.

Graduates of Confederation College's 2-year Environmental Technician diploma program will be given non-transferrable credit for one year (5 full course equivalents) to Lakehead University's Honours Bachelor of Science (Water Resource Science major) degree program. Entrance requirement – 70% or 3.0 from College.

Graduates of Confederation College’s Tourism – Travel and Eco-Adventure 2-year diploma program, with a minimum average of 75%, are eligible to transfer into the Honours Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation program at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay campus. The program can be completed in three years, instead of four.
